Terms of service

Last updated July 2026 · Silver Directive LLC

These terms govern your use of Where Do I Move? (the “Service”), operated by Silver Directive LLC. By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use it.

The most important thing: these are estimates

Every number on this site — rent, cost of living, taxes, Fit Scores, salary requirements, climate projections, crime, walkability, disaster risk — is an estimate computed from public data. Our methodology page documents the formulas and their known limitations honestly.

The Service is informational only. It is not financial, tax, legal, real-estate, employment, or relocation advice. Climate projections are model outputs about an uncertain future, not predictions. City-level averages will not match your specific neighborhood, household, or circumstances. Verify anything that matters before you rely on it — before you sign a lease, accept a job, or move. Decisions you make are yours.

Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, and tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Pro subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

  • Pro is a recurring subscription billed monthly through Stripe until you cancel. Your card is charged automatically at the start of each billing period.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account. Your Pro access continues through the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not billed again.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change with notice for future billing periods.
  • Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. If something goes wrong on our end, contact us — we'd rather fix it than argue about it.
  • We may comp Pro access to individual accounts at our discretion.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract the Service's data or pages, or attempt to bypass rate limits or Pro gating.
  • Resell, redistribute, or republish substantial portions of our computed data or scores as your own product.
  • Attempt to breach security, disrupt the Service, or access accounts that aren't yours.
  • Use the Service for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Content and intellectual property

The underlying source data is public (Census, HUD, BLS, FBI, NOAA, EPA, FEMA, and others — credited on the methodology page) and belongs to its publishers. The Service itself — our scoring model, computed scores, written explanations, design, and code — belongs to Silver Directive LLC. Personal, non-commercial use is welcome; commercial reuse of our computed output requires written permission.

Warranties and liability

The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the data is error-free or current.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Silver Directive LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any decision you make based on the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50.

Third-party links and ads

The Service contains advertising and affiliate links. We may earn a commission when you use them, at no extra cost to you — and no advertiser, city, or partner can influence a score. See the advertising & affiliate disclosure. We aren't responsible for third-party sites or their content.

Changes

We may update the Service or these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page; continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
